PEERsuaders Community Outreach: “Hands Off – Love is NOT Abuse”

February is Teen Dating Violence Prevention Awareness Month. On February 9, 2020, the PEERsuaders hosted a community outreach at Stonecrest Mall called “Hands Off.” The goal is to reach 1,000 teens with information focused on reducing the risk of teen dating violence so that teens an successfully develop safe and healthy relationships.


MTCI PEERsuaders are bringing awareness about Teen Dating Violence and its effect on our youth by hosting a community outreach called “Hands Off”. Their goal is to reach 1,000 with information focused on reducing the risk of teen dating violence so that teens can successfully develop safe and healthy relationships.


Did you know?

1 in every 5 high school students report being physically and/or sexually abused by a dating partner.

81% of Parents believe teen dating violence is not an issue or admit they don’t know if it’s an issue.

1 in 3 young people will be in an abusive or unhealthy relationship

50% of young people who experience rape, or physical or sexual abuse will attempt suicide

1 in 10 high school students has been purposefully hit, slapped, or physically hurt by a boyfriend or girlfriend.
