More Than Conquerors, Inc. Staff Undergoes Sexual Risk Avoidance Specialist Certification Training

It is important that professionals in every career maintain the highest level of knowledge and skill in their areas of expertise. More Than Conquerors, Inc.’s staff is training in Sexual Risk Avoidance

Specialist (SRA) Certification. The course runs from December 17-19, 2019 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Conyers, GA.

Sexual Risk Avoidance is an educational approach based on the public health model of primary prevention to empower youth to avoid ALL the risks of sexual activity.

The SRAS credential provides a foundation for curriculums. It sets standards in defining the approach and the theoretical and public health basis for SRA. It emphasizes building parent-child connectedness and community & school partnerships.

The certification also teaches the importance of research and program evaluation, implementing an evidence-based approach, applying sexual health data, research, trends, & medical accuracy.

Talking about sex education to students, parents, teachers, community stakeholders or the media can be challenging. The complexity and sensitive nature of the topic requires thoughtful messaging and practice to clearly communicate the content and its context. The SRAS certification helps our staff do this more efficiently.
