Greetings and Happy New Year!
2019 has proven to be an amazing year for More Than Conquerors, Incorporated as we celebrated 20 years of serving Georgia adolescents and their families. The year has included relationship education and enrichment, positive youth development advocacy relevant to strengthening families and community, as well as our 20th year of service anniversary. This work has allowed our organization to continually meet the needs of teens, while exploring new innovative ways to serve the community at large, as we advocate for the future formation of healthy marriages and families. The work we began in January was intentionally purposed to impact children and youth through our programs and service delivery.
Here is a snapshot of what our commitment to youth and young people has accomplished in one year:
Provided the healthy relationship message for over 2,000 students across 4 counties.
Provided sexual risk avoidance education for high school students in Rockdale County.
Provided risk avoidance education for adjudicated youth in Rockdale County.
Provided case management services for students across service counties.
Provided career related education for students across service counties.
Provided financial literacy education for students across service counties.
Conducted student-led advocacy campaigns via school Voice Clubs.
Conducted suicide prevention community production attended by 700 people.
Provided an opportunity for our students to witness local couples re-commitment to one another through a renewal of wedding vows ceremony.
Provided 4 students an education enrichment opportunity to see our government at work by connecting with our senators and representatives on Capitol Hill.
Conducted a Spring Break Leadership Camp for nearly 200 students.
Took 50 students on a 4-day college and career tour across 3 states.
Gave back to the community through the collection of blankets, clothes, food, toys.
Participated in local food drives, nursing home visitation and Angel Tree event.
Although we are much appreciative of these accomplishments, we still have more work and growth to do! Our shared goal in 2020 is to expand our service delivery to reach an additional 1,000 youth throughout our state, as we endeavor to positively impact their lives. All services are at no cost to participants.
